Your fuel plan, spoken in your ear.

Fuelstate says the exact gel, chew or cap from your kit, right on time, through your headphones. Phone locked, music playing, eyes on the road.

Pick a cue and a product, then press play.

Your fuel

Feel it, and you're already behind.

Hunger, heavy legs and a foggy head are late signals. Carbs take time to reach working muscle, so fuel taken after them is catching up. Runners who finish strong fuel on a schedule, before the body asks.

That schedule is hard to hold at mile 18. Watches beep for splits, not gels. Fuelstate keeps it for you and says it out loud, three times if it has to. When a gel and salt are due together, one cue names both.

  1. -0:30 “Coming up in 30 seconds: Maurten Gel 100.”Time to reach for it without breaking stride.
  2. 0:00 “Time to take Maurten Gel 100.”Take it, then tap Done on the Lock Screen or Apple Watch. Hands-free mode logs it for you.
  3. Late “Still time to take Maurten Gel 100.”Running a little late is fine. It lets you know there's still time, and if you skip it the plan moves on to the next one.

Quiet until the moment it counts.

Every cue is short, named and timed. Everything else stays out of your way.

  • Phone stays lockedCues play with the phone in a pocket, belt or vest. No unlocking, no squinting.
  • Music keeps playingMusic dips under the cue and comes right back. Podcasts pause, then pick up where they left off.
  • Headphones onlyDuring a run, cues play only through connected headphones, so your pocket never announces your gel to the pack.
  • Brand names said rightTuned to say fuel brands the way runners do, from GU and LMNT to Maurten and Science in Sport.
  • Refill points called aheadOn supported race courses, Fuelstate tells you a refill point is coming before you reach it.
  • Splits if you want themChoose fuel cues only, or add mile splits with pace and heart rate.

Is there an app that tells me out loud when to take my gels?

Yes. Fuelstate speaks each fuel action through your headphones. It gives a heads-up 30 seconds before each fuel, names the exact product to take when it is time, and reminds you if a fuel is overdue.

Will Fuelstate audio cues interrupt my music or podcast?

Only briefly. Music lowers in volume while the cue is spoken and comes back up afterward; spoken audio such as a podcast pauses for the cue and then continues.

Do I need to unlock my phone to hear fuel cues?

No. Cues play with the phone locked in a pocket, belt, or vest. You can mark a fuel Done or Skip from the Lock Screen or Apple Watch.

Do Fuelstate audio cues play out loud from the phone speaker?

No. During a run, fuel cues play only through connected headphones, so a phone in your pocket never announces out loud.

Can Fuelstate also announce my mile splits?

Yes. You can choose fuel cues only, or fuel cues plus mile splits with pace and, when a heart rate source is connected, heart rate.
